Shoot & Share with the Camcorder Projector from 3M!
This nifty bit of kit is the new Camcorder Projector from 3M – otherwise known as the CP45. It does exactly as the name suggests (and more) – it’s both a HD camcorder AND a top of the range mobile projector. The CP45 lets you shoot and share instantly – capture images, shoot videos and project them via a built in pico-projector for all to see!
A Camcorder, Camera & Projector
The CP45 Camcorder Projector packs a powerful punch, whilst it may be slightly bigger than your average HD camcorder it offers quite a lot more;
- HD Video Recording (720p)
- On Board 2.4″ LCD Display
- RGB LED Light Source
- Integrated 5MP Camera
- LED Flash & Light Source
- 2GB of On-Board Memory (Expandable to 32GB via a microSD™ or microSDHC™ card)
- Built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery
- 2.4″ buit-in LCD Screen
- Projector Brightness of up to 20 Lumens
- 800 x 600 Projector Resolution
- 5x Digital Zoom
- Weighs Just 190 grams
- 125mm x 62mm x 24mm
The integrated lithium battery lets you project video for up to 100 minutes on a single charge. Charging the battery is simple – the CP45 Camcorder Projector comes complete with an AC adapter and a USB cable. Charging the battery from empty takes just 4hours using the AC adapter or 7 hours if you are charging it via the USB port on your computer/laptop.
Whilst the Camcorder Projector is bigger than your average camera it’s still remarkably small for what it can do. It measures just 125m x 61mm x 24mm and weighs just 190 grams. It can record at resolution of 1280 x 720 putting it safely within the HD category
The multi-step zoom functionality lets you zoom in or zoom out on your subject, the zoom works in steps which means that you can’t gradually zoom in or out – it jumps forward or jumps backwards which can detract from the videoing experience (you can always edit out the steps later).
The CP45 comes with 2GB of built-in memory, that’s enough to store over 1000 photos or roughly one hour of HD video. The Camcorder Projector memory can be expanded by up to 32GB using a MicroSD card.
The Camcorder Projector has an LED ‘torch’ for filming in dark or in low light conditions. The LED produces a strong light enabling you to film where there is little or no light.
The Projector on the CP45 boasts a brightness of up to 20 Lumens, quite high for a Pico projector. For the best experience it’s best to operate the projector in a dark room. The CP45 claims to gives you a projected image of 65″ diagonally though this can easily be increased by simply moving the projector further from the projection surface. Although the Camcorder Projector records in HD it doesn’t project in HD (or in widescreen). The CP45 has AV input, HDMI output, a headphone jack, USB port for charging the device and for transferring files to a computer and a microSD card slot.
The CP45 In Business
The 3M Camcorder Projector has hundreds of applications – you can use it to show your holiday snaps to your gran, you can use it to show the GAA lads the highlights from their game or you could use it as your own personal mobile cinema but the best applications for the CP45 are in business. It’s ideal for situations requiring immediate capture and feedback, training sessions, demonstrations, quality control, field audits etc. The product is currently on trial with professional trainers, architects, security organisations and project managers. It can also be used in schools for interactive learning. The CP45 doesn’t let you project your computer or laptop screen directly but it does come with conversion software enabling you to convert the following file types for projection: AVI, ASF, DAT, MP4, M4V, MPG, MPEG, MPE, RMVB, WMV, PPT, PPS.
All in all we think the Camcorder Projector is a great bit of kit useful both at home and in business. It’s small, compact and has multiple applications. Get yours now at pixmania for just €334.99
